BLED - YOUR HOST TOWN

Bled lies in the extreme north-western part of Slovenia, at the foot of the Julian Alps and between the Sava Bohinjka and Sava Dolinka rivers. It ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts, renowned for its mild, healing climate and thermal lake water. Slovenia has only one island but its uniqueness makes it more attractive than many an archipelago. Sheltered by picturesque mountains, the island reigns in the middle of an Alpine lake. Its charm has made it a town symbol for centuries, to which guests from all over the world love to return. This town, which has already existed for a thousand years, is BLED.

By Air
The nearest international airport, Ljubljana airport is 36 km away from Bled. It has daily connections to major European cities.        

Transfers from airports (Ljubljana and Klagenfurt) and train station Ljubljana to the requsted hotels will be organized for the participants of the conference by Albatros agency upon the request. Participants could reserve the shuttle bus, using the accommodation form. Payment should be made directly to the driver (Airport Ljubljana-Bled  13-45 EUR, Airport Klagenfurt-Bled 20-90 EUR).

Bus connections (from and to airport):

• There is a regular bus service from Ljubljana airport to Kranj and from Kranj to Bled.

• Taxi service is available 24 hours per day (appr. price 50 €).

Bled can be reached also from other airports: Klagenfurt (60 km), Trieste (105 km), Zagreb (165 km) and Graz (170 km).

By Train
Ljubljana is an important rail junction and may be reached by direct trains from major European cities. From Ljubljana there are regular connections to Bled.
